Around the Coast

On New Years day 2000, when most people were nursing a colossal hangover, Alison and Martyn set off from Liverpool. The daunting task they had set themselves was to walk around the coast of the mainland UK visiting every Lifeboat station on route to raise money for the RNLI.

A year and 4 months later, while still on the walk, Alison was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent surgery and a course of radiotherapy. Never one to quit, she and Martyn returned to finish the walk, arriving back in Liverpool almost 2 years, and 5200 miles later.

Alison and Martyn were married on 1st Dec 2001.

Alison passed away on Tuesday 11th June with Martyn and her family at her side.

This site tells their incredible story with commentary, photos and newspaper articles.
